Children's Krav Maga
Krav Maga Force’s reality-based self defense training program is now available for children through the KMF-KickStart Program. KickStart is the ideal springboard for children between the ages of 6 and 12 to learn the concepts of self defense and increase their overall level of physical fitness. The program’s class structure focuses on the development of skills that build strong and resilient children both physically and mentally. All classes emphasize the key aspects of:
Situational awareness and basic self defense
Physical fitness and functional movement
Character development and life skills
The KMF-KickStart program was developed to provide to students with the safety and life skills that will help them grow into confident and responsible teenagers and adults. We emphasize the importance of being aware of surroundings, maintaining individual physical fitness and making smart and responsible choices. These lessons are creatively communicated to students and classes are always fun and engaging. We want our students to look forward to working hard each class and being a part of our community as they grow into safe, healthy and happy teenagers.
PRACTICAL SELF DEFENSE SKILLS
The Practical Self Defense Skills class focuses on Krav Maga self defense and combative techniques most relevant to young students. Krav Maga is a simple and effective self defense system that emphasizes instinctive movements, practical techniques and realistic training scenarios. Students first learn about how to use their common sense and words to avoid potentially dangerous situations as well as how to increase their self and situational awareness to become hard targets. In the event a situation arises where the use of physical force is absolutely necessary, KickStart classes teach KravMaga techniques that are specifically tailored to situations most commonly encountered by children such as bullying and abduction. These skill sets are reinforced through situational drilling to help students gain confidence in their ability to effectively utilize these techniques under stressful conditions. The curriculum is based on real life self defense scenarios with learning activities designed to build your child’s confidence in their own decision making and abilities.
COMBATIVES SKILLS & DRILLS
The Combatives Skills & Drills classes help to fine tune technique and build the muscle memory required for effective striking through fun and engaging drills that disguise repetition and build the student’s level of cardiovascular fitness. These fast-paced classes will incorporate striking combinations and routines using a variety of training tools including heavy bags, focus mitts, body opponent bags (BOBs) and freestanding reflex bags.
KickStart FIT classes focus on improving students’ strength, endurance and speed and are a perfect complement to our self defense and combatives classes. Each session includes a short and engaging lessons about fundamental exercises and their correct form followed by a fun and creative workout that is sure to get students sweating. Classes emphasize both individual performance and teamwork through a combination of obstacle courses, games and fitness challenges. Individual progress is measured on a regular basis to help motivate and encourage students to keep working hard and pushing themselves each week. Our goal is to help inspire a positive association with physical activity and cultivate a life long passion for exercise.
